Texas Solar
McCarthy served as EPC and constructed a 1,600-acre, 212-MWdc single-axis tracking photovoltaic solar facility in Texas. In total, the plant consists of 680,000 solar modules, 64 inverter skids, 8,500 single axis tracker rows and 100,000 driven pile foundations. McCarthy was also responsible for site and electrical engineering, a 138kV substation, distribution line and array construction, self-performed pile driving, module installation and tracker installation.
The project generates enough solar power to meet the energy needs of approximately 30,000 homes. At its peak, the project employed approximately 480 people, many of whom lived in local communities.
